About Me

Aw, man...do I have to do this AGAIN?!? (smile) Seriously, this is my third and final MySpace music page. I say that because I messed up two pages and got things right on the third try. When I had everything figured out, I went back and learned how to download music on the other two music pages. My basic info is on those two pages (www.myspace.com/soulofjuniorturner and www.myspace.com/drphoenixremix), as well as www.soundclick.com/juniorturner and www.showcaseyourmusic.com/juniorturner. Go there, check out the sounds, let me know what you think, offer some constructive criticism, and if you have a MySpace page, let me know if you want me to check YOU out. This is just a basic page with no graphics, no Zwinkys, no pimped-out text, none of that madness. All of this is made in order to enable those to read what I've written without straining their eyes. As you can see, I have a lot of music that I've made over time, and this is no mistake...YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THEM. We don't care over here with these tracks (I'm feeling benevolent right now). I'm going to add a few tracks I've made back in '94-2001 in a mix, as well as a few heaters I've concocted over this month (November '07). Keep in mind, though...THIS ISN'T MY BEST STUFF. I'm no master musician...I still have to practice scales on a piano, different drum patterns on a drum machine, fingering on the bass and lead guitar, as well as the kalimba, mbira, and zither. I try my best when I'm recording at the time...any mistakes you may hear, just chalk it up to my human condition! To access my other two music pages, look at the band website on this page, as well as the others, and you will be able to follow along. I've said all I'm going to say right now...enjoy.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: soundclick.com/juniorturner
Band Members: Just me. I'll give you some sample credit here...on Beat 6-DX, that was a sample of Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up" being flipped and twisted. On Beat 1-JC, the only sample that was used was from James Brown's "Escape-ism/Make It Funky" from the REVOLUTION OF THE MIND album...listen closely, and you'll spot it. I dig in the crates sometimes, and I get down on the keyboards myself sometimes. And a few times, because I'm weird like that, I'll even have a track with either feedback or white noise and think it's a form of music.
Influences: I have a lot of them! See the other pages for a more detailed listing.
Sounds Like: You be the judge. Who do I sound like?
Record Label: unsigned
Type of Label: None

That page is where you can read my blog.  That was the one page I couldn’t convert to a music page.  Enjoy!
