Callie Ray is an up and coming country artist. This Georgia native has been singing since she started talking. She spent most of her time singing in the church chior. Callie began singing in school choruses in the 4th grade. She was part of her high school choir called the McIntosh Singers. They are a nationally recoginized high school all girl choir that traveled all around the country singing at Southern and National ACDA Conventions. Her music career went a different direction when she went to University of West Georgia. Callie remained training her voice in classical music while singing in the college choir, but a new door was about to be opened when she was heard singing at her work place in Carrollton. Her boss overheard Callie singing "Strawberry Wine" by Deanna Carter while waiting tables and quickly heard she had a pretty voice on her! He decided to contact a band that was scheduled to play the next weekend to see if they would let Callie get up and sing a few songs. This was the first time she had ever been in the spotlight as a lead singer and working with a band. Burke and Cole came to play that next weeked and so graciously let Callie sing a few songs. Callie instantly became a hit and was invited back to sing with them everytime they played in Carrollton. She was the featured artist and the crowd was always excited to see her perform! Callie thanks Burke Allen and Cole Swindell for allowing her to discover her passion for singing country music and giving her the oppertunity to sing with them! While still performing on the weekends Callie started to attend voice lessons at Jan Smith Studios in Atlanta and worked with vocal coach Heidi Higgins. Summer of 2007 was exciting for Callie. She won a local vocal contest in her home town called Fayette Idol where she performed "Settlin" by her favorite country band Sugarland. The next night she opened for Herman and the Hermits. In August Callie made it past the first 3 rounds of American Idol. Soon after that she finished writing her first song called "Love You Still". Callie quickly recorded it as her first original demo song. Since then Callie moved to Nashville where she is networking and trying to write some more original songs. Feel free to message Callie Ray with any questions or helpful ideas that will help her with her music career! Thank you for checking out her page!
