About Me

Raised on the Seneca Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in NY state, I walked the roads at night hummin and hitchiking alone, playing harmonica to the sounds of poverty and truth and death, watched the good die young, drank my fill and then some. With an Irish mother hell bent on poetry and an Indian father hell bent on art, together we were a fire and this is the sound of it crackling like a 1920's blues song scratching out from the 3rd world of no mans land. Born in Lawton Oklahoma at good ole IHS in 1973. Jip Jones was my grandfathers nickname....short for "gypsy" which is how my songs come to me, in part on the back of a pickup truck thru the fields of workers tying grapes and picking strawberries, its all here it just hasnt been allowed to breathe, today i give it breath.
