About Me

Greetings and salutations!My name is Maria Catherine Trefil, though many know me by my nickname "Galina." As this is my business page, the former is the name which appears however and which I use professionally.First and foremostly, I am an unpublished novelist. I am currently in the process of finishing the second book in the new 15th century Eastern European historical fiction series that I've been working on for two years. Until the second book is done, I will not solicit for an agent because I want to give the best impression of being both a committed and a hard worker. These are traits that I hold in high esteem. Currently, I have worked on and am still working on film scripts for a couple of different companies. Occasionally, I also write articles, mostly about either Romani or disabled rights, and, for this, was once interviewed and internationally broadcast on the BBC radio program "Rokker Radio."I love acting and working on independant films, (resume listed below in the companies' column,) in front of and behind the cameras and have worked in the past year and a half on several projects for several companies in both Nevada and California. I'm not interested in being famous, rich, or making it in Hollywood. I just enjoy the business and want to work with fellow artistic types and, eventually, have my own low-budget or no-budget company.I'm a belly-dancer, can speak near-fluent Spanish, and am a traditional Celtic folk-singer. I was trained by my mother who was, herself, a professional singer, writer, editor, dancer, model, and one-time actress. I occasionally do portrait photography, portrait cartooning, and fortune-telling.My word is my bond and I believe in showing up on time and working hard without complaint for whoever employs me, whether it's volunteer work or not.I love the entertainment industry and I'm just looking to have fun in it.
