Save the Derby from Demolition

Save the Derby from Demolition

Developers plan to tear down the last Brown Derby located at 4500 Los Feliz Blvd. (currently home to the Derby nightclub and Louise's to build 80+ luxury condos and retail stores in a massive complex they call "Hillhurst Square." With its great architecture and history, the Derby is an important part of Los Angeles. It is loved by millions. Owned at one time by Los Feliz resident and film giant Cecil B. DeMille, the Derby is the last original Brown Derby Restaurant that is still intact. All the others are gone forever.

They claim that there is nothing historic about the Derby. They think its just another old building. Is the White House or Monticello just another old building? If the Derby goes, what's next? The Chinese Theater? The Hollywood Sign? The stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Make a difference. Get involved!
