There's A Difference Between Rappers & MC's

About Me

You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !Artist VL, in Decatur,GA- east side Atlanta, is no stranger to music; he is no rookie either. Every since the age of four VL has been around music, listening to the sounds of Da Brat, Bone Thugz-N-Harmony, Tupac, B.I.G., Michael Jackson, and more--due to his talented cousin DJ, who was around eleven at the time. Dj serving as an unknown form of inspiration. Spending almost a full year in Ocala, FL with his cousin, he realized that he had a flare for music. He would sit and watch as DJ would dance, sing, and do something most fascinating to the youngin...DJ would rap. Around the age of seven, he began singing. He first began singing at school. He only freestyled songs then at that point until two years later in 1999, in the classrooms of Clifton Elementary School when he heard the voice of Brian McKnight. VL then joined the kids choir at his local church. He would then remain singing until around the age of eleven when his voice began to change-puberty. Because he lacked the knowledge of training his voice, he gave up on singing and began writing poems. Upon hearing the song "Where the Party At?" by Jagged Edge featuring St. Louis native rapper Nelly, the old spark was rekindled when he then memorized Nelly's verse on the song. He wanted to rap and be the guy in front of the camera! He began to collect CDs of Hip-Hop artists like the Hot Boys, Nas, Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Snoop Dogg, not excluding Nelly. A small tragedy to Villie came when he was relocated out of Atlanta to Ocala, a small city in central Florida, in 2001. He was forced to adapt to his new surroundings and a slower paced city. Over the next two years he collected more and more music and was introduced to new artists-to him-like Soulja Slim, Tela, former Hot Boys Juvenile, B.G., and Lil Wayne, T.I. Do or Die, Juelz Santana and Cam'ron, 8Ball & MJG, UGK, Gillie Da Kid, and Cassidy to name a few. When he reached eighth grade in 2004, he began writing rap lyrics in addition to his poems upon meeting young rapper John Thorns aka S-Boi who was also from Atlanta. Starting off with the alias C.G. (Citi Gangsta), C.G. would rap about anything that came to his mind, personal or commercial. He then cycled through names ranging from Lill Dezz, Young D, WHIP, to what appeared to be his final name, Young Geezy. Before exitting eight grade, an album by an unexpected artist was released-The Carter by Lil Wayne. Originally never liking the New Orleans native rapper, Geezy grew to like him and his lyrics after hearing 500 Degrees. Never fully hearing the Blueprint by Jay-Z, Geezy took The Carter & The Curse in as a lyrical bible into his own lyrics and swagger, creating his own product. After he realized that Hova and Lil Weezy did their music without writing, VL set his eyes on being the best rapper in his time period, increasing his lyrical creativity by working hard night-and-day to improve. After the releae of Atlanta artist Young Jeezy, Marcus was forced to change his name. He then picked out VL, derived from his middle name and inspired by his cousin DJ-currently known as Wild Card. Throughout high school, VL was joined by young rappers Nardo, Trill Will, Big T, and Young Zyke. He later went solo due to some group issues with another artist by the name of Odd Ball and began recording in his home studio. After meeting, hearing, and speaking to New Orleans rapper VL Mike, VL was forced to change his name again, giving birth to Villie- a new personality of his with improved skill and high lyrical potential. Upon the death of VL ike in April of 2008, Villie took the name back to pay homage and added it to his name thus becoming VL Villie or Villie VL.
