About Me

Why do I have a MySpace page? It's a good way to keep track of many of the bands I like, and a good way to discover bands I've never heard of and sample their tunes. It's also interesting to run across someone else with a psychotronic frame of reference. :D
I like music (SPAGHETTI WESTERN SOUNDTRACKS, THRASH METAL, SPEED METAL, DEATH METAL, DOOM METAL, OLD SCHOOL METAL, INSTRUMENTAL SURF GUITAR, BLUES, ROCKABILLY, PSYCHOBILLY, PUNK, the Rat Pack, Exotica, etc.), films, western philosophy, BBQ, Choppers, good times, biology, wildlife and HOT WOMEN.
I try to occupy my time with the above to fight off the abyss of soul-crushing despair that can result when one considers the current state of the world.
My favorite metal /rock acts include Rigor Mortis, Solitude Aeturnus, Gammacide, Rotting Corpse, Pantera, Black Sabbath / Heaven and Hell, Motörhead, SLAYER!!!, Fotsam and Jetsam, Mercyful Fate, Exodus, Helstar, Destruction, Jag Panzer, Overkill, Agent Steel, Holy Terror, EXCITER, Trouble, Manowar, Judas Priest, SAXON, Iron Maiden, Spiritual Beggars, Onslaught, Venom, Cannibal Corpse, Hypocrisy, Paragon, Abattoir, Possessed, S.O.D., Anthrax, Hammerfall, Eternity Black, Cathedral, Celtic Frost, C.O.C., Death, Discharge, Destructor, Dio, Emperor, Force of Evil, Immolation, Immortal, Impelliterri, Incantation, Infernal Majesty, Morbid Angel, Mortician, NILE, Running Wild, Sodom, The Misfits, GBH, AC/DC, L.A. Guns, White Lion, the original KISS, Pink Floyd, Journey, 38 Special, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Triumph, etc., etc.
My favorite instro surf / reverb / spaghetti twang acts include the amazing Dick Dale, The Apemen, The Five Outsiders, The Hellbenders, Los Kahunas, The Nebulas, I Fantomatici, The Sandblasters, Los Straitjackets, The Kilaueas, The Bitch Boys, The Tormentos, Satan's Pilgrims, Atomic Mosquitos, The Metalunas, Bradipos IV, The Ghastly Ones, Man or Astro Man?, The Space Cossacks, and the great Pollo Del Mar (to name but a few).
I also like spaghetti western music, so shouts out to the great Ennio Morricone and The Hellbenders.
My favorite BLUES folks include (but are by no means limited to) B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, Freddie King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Sweet Sam Meyers, Jimmie Vaughan, Lou Ann Barton, Joe Jonas, Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat, Lucky Peterson, Gregg Smith, James Butler Cool Show Band, Cookie McGee, The Silvertones, The Soul Review with Bobby Patterson and Lou Hampton, Wanda King, Mike Morgan & The Crawl, Lee McBee, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Howlin' Wolf, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Z.Z. Hill, Little Milton, Johnnie Taylor, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, Hollywood Fats, Zuzu Bollin, Big Joe Turner, Wynonie Harris, Roomful of Blues, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, Albert Collins, SRV, Long John Hunter, Little Walter, Kim Wilson and Blind Blake. Really, I could go on and on.
My favorite guitar players include B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, Freddie King, Abert King, Lucky Peterson, Jim Suhler, Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Jimmie Vaughan, SRV, Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis, Ministry), Dimebag Darrell (Pantera/Damageplan), Dick Dale (the undisputed KING of the Surf Guitar), John Ricci (Exciter), Randy Rhoads, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Angus Young (AC/DC), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd). I could probably go on and on.
Currently, I buried too deep in work to bother giving the establishment the finger...but boy does it ever deserve getting the finger. With both hands.
Receiving heavy rotation in the CD player at this time are the following: Rigor Mortis - ALL; TESTAMENT - The Formation of Damnation (THRASHIN' HELL YEAH!!!); Ennio Morricone - Tepepa soundtrack, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly soundtrack, Once Upon A Time In The West soundtrack; Various Artists - For A Few Guitars More: A Tribute to Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western Themes; The Five Outsiders - On The Run; Heaven and Hell - The Devil You Know; Gov't Mule - Holy Haunted House, Rev. Horton Heat - ALL - and a bunch of rockabilly stuff like The Rhythm Shakers, the Hi-Strung Ramblers and Marti Brom.
I am living in an age of increasing superstition and irrationality. On top of that, my goverment continues to erode civil liberties while my fellow citizens just yawn about it...if they even notice at all. It kinda sucks. But with the 2008 elections, maybe things will start to turn around for the better.
