"Seize the day".......that is the mantra that Minneapolis alt/rock band Stealing Seconds tries to live by. Maybe seizing moments might be a more appropriate measure of time. Whether it be crafting a song, or pumping out a high energy rock show, the band tries to make every second count by stealing back the moments that might otherwise be wasted.
Stealing Seconds is headed up by Bryan Thuney on lead vocals/guitar. Thuney's trademark is crafting what he likes to call "anthematic rock." That, defined, might be explained as songs that make you nod your head and pump your fist. His also is known for his energetic live performances. Thuney has shared the stage with national acts such as Damone, Stroke 9, The Why Store, and Pete Best, as well as Twin Cities mainstays Kevin Bowe, Tim Mahoney, and GB Leighton. His music has been heard on radio stations throughout the US, as well as featured on local Twin Cities TV stations.
Rocky Hem, nicknamed "the EmBASSador" due to his charismatic infectious personality, rocks the bass for Stealing Seconds. One of the more highly sought after musicians in the Twin Cities, he has shared the stage with numbers of local acts. He is well known for his smooth and creative writing style. His stage prescence is also highly recognizable by aura of....cooooool!
Mike Geronsin is the cool zen master off stage, that absolutely rips it up on stage! He possesses an uncanny ability to throw down the perfect riff on the spot, seemingly out of thin air. It's almost as if he permeates your mind...reads what you are thinking.....and then tears off something that trenscends what you could have even imagined. His proficiencies extend beyond six strings and cover the gamut, from drums to keys to...really whatever you might like from him. He even uses his power for good by running his own music school, Pitchfever!
John Eide rounds out the line-up on drums. His rock solid tempo and emphatic hard hitting style create the foundation that allows the Stealing Seconds anthems to come to life. His kick drum hits will draw you in, and his snare cracks will peirce your soul. There are few stages in the Twin Cities that he hasn't graced with his energetic performances!
