The Defilers

More primitive than banging two rocks together

About Me

Who are The Defilers? "Aptly named. They defile Rock and Roll into a twisted wreckage of screeching distorto-fuzz, blaring organ, bass thud, head kick drums, and nose-hasn't-been-blown-in-a-week howling snarl! The Defilers aren't "alternative." Unless you consider them an alternative to the boring staleness of "alternative." The Defilers cannot be considered "College Rock" since their primitve sounds are on a High School drop out level. The Defilers are distasteful and nasty garage punk snot, threatening to kick your face and set your legs to moving simultaneously! They laugh at what others consider "dangerous" and leave it in the dust choking! The Defilers are gonna defile your senses. AND MAKE YOU GLAD THEY DID." RON RIMSITE, EDITOR OF THE 99TH FLOOR------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------" The Defilers have just begun their plans to put NY back into the next great garage revival. Lead man Dylan looks like John from the Real Kids and strains nastily on the microphone. Organ kicks in the haunt and Scott on evil eye guitar. Attitude and authentic appreciation of one of America's greatest heritages. My body might have been in the East Village but The Defilers were trying to put me in some basement in Akron Ohio circa '66." EYE DEAL MAGAZINE---------------------------------------------------- ----------------"This shit's so good it's scary. I wish all the demos I get were this good. Fuck the community radio 'Only play it once, cause I don't wanna sound like commercial radio' thang. I'm gonna play this motherfucker to death!" ALEX PIANDES, COFFEE 'N' SMOKES, WMFO 91.5FM Medford (Boston), MA ------------------------------------------------------------ ---- Got pics, recollections, old set lists, live tapes we sent out, etc? We're interested in them! We're trying to document the very short lived career of the band. Future updates will include a listing of the various incarnations of the band from just Dylan and Scott sitting on the floor of an apartment in Brooklyn crunching out the basics of what would become the Defilers sound..

The Defilers... Brief Ramblings

The Defilers... Not the Rock-a-Billy swamp band from down south, not the surf band from the midwest, and not the brief lived hardcore band from somewhere I forget at the moment. No, these are The Defi...
