"There is a holy call and there is a blessed destination, but in between there is the journey“. In the Bible, after God calls a person, he takes them from where they are to someplace new. He separates them from everything they know, and they go through a period of humbling. And then their heart is changed and they are elevated to the status of leader, and they are sent out on a mission. This is where mine began.Being in a nurturing home, I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t told about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Born and raised in Queens, NY in a section called Queens bridge, I lived with my parents and three siblings. My mom was an evangelist in a Pentecostal church in New Jersey and my dad was the saxophone player, musical director, and a sang in a popular quartet group. I was the drummer, my brother played bass, and my little brother played keys and sang in the church choir. Singing was a huge part in our church.
You just sang. In my house the only choice was Gospel music. I grew up on Rance Allen, The Winans, Commissioned, The Williams Bros, The Eveready’s, and so many more. I knew that the Lord had a special calling on my life from the time I could open my mouth to give God praise. The Lord began to show me things and he began to talk to me about Praise and how we must know that it’s nothing but God that will bring you out of what ever you are in. In the year of 1999 the Lord elevated and called me to preach the Gospel. While being a servant of God in the source of preaching he also gave me the ministry of Song. I began to hear revelations that the Lord had given me about the world today. The Lord began to talk and I began to write what he had to say. In 2000 I formed a group called Mark Allen & New Zion and our first CD was released later that year. In the course of years we were blessed to minister with great recording artist such as: Kim Burrell, Hezekiah Walker, Natalie Wilson, Danny Eason, Timothy Wright just to name a few. During our journey , we remained focused on the plan of the Lord. We have traveled many states spreading the “Good Newsâ€, ministering in song to God’s people.The year 2005, the Lord had taken my journey in a different direction; I became the Youth Pastor at my church and being head of the Praise and Worship Ministry. The Lord began to do a great work, young people giving their lives to Christ, and souls were saved under the anointing of the Praises that the Lord had given us to relay to his people. In the year of 2007 the Lord blessed us to record . In the process of recording, he began to talk to me about Praise and Worship. Listening to the voice of the Lord and being lead by his mighty spirit Mark Allen & Greater Level was formed and a cluster of God’s words came about. The group consist of some anointed people of God that has accepted the calling into a higher dimension of Praise. Greater Level singers are : (Sopranos)Alexis Burks, Natasha Feliciano, (Tenor)Jasmine Allen, (Altos)Tonie Allen Lawana Powell and Aja Johnson. Today’s society looks to different types of refuge to help us out of situations, We are here today because of God’s grace and mercy. For that cause, here are a few songs on CD that were sent in a message to be delivered, “That it’s only Jesus!†Thank you for the opportunity to express in song what I believe is the antidote for the world today.
