Debut Album Coming Soon

About Me

AngelEasy are Rachael, Debi, Barry and Chris, they were formed in the Spring of 2007. For the past four months they have been writing and recording their debut album "Letters Home"
The music has been described as an electro/acoustic blend of modern rock, with a hint of progressive rock thrown in.
The songs are guitar based with melodic, deep, meaningful lyrics about life, lost love, relationships and fishing - (no that's a joke), you'll have to work that one out for yourselves!!!
Rachael the newest member of the band, joined in the summer, half way through recording sessions. Her superb vocal talents have added a range and depth much needed to the finished music.
The album is currently in the final mastering stages and will be available from this and other websites very soon
The lyrics are penned by Debi. All music for the album was written, arranged and performed by Baz and Chris.
The Album "Letters Home" is Coming Soon!
What The Name's About
Maybe some of us want to believe in Angels invisibly winging their way into our lives when we hit hard times. Only they don’t actually seem to be around when we need them. Aren’t they interested in our heartaches? Our feeling is that, Angels are pretty discerning and into tough love. We dig deeper when there is nothing and no one to rescue us. If we don’t feel them around us it’s cos they have a real job to do somewhere else and that we can manage. Much as we would like it, life isn’t AngelEasy.

Track Listing and What the Songs are About
Freezing Heart - a song about the hardest thing in life to deal with – Death.
.....Dedicated to the late Helen Lowe loving wife and mother.
.....Dedicated to Tim Hampson (Debi’s first love) – too good for this world.
Edge of Despair – about feeling lost and despairing and being able to get through, with the support of someone else. What most people need is a good listening to!
Wasted Years – about being so burdened with regret and sorrow of the years wasted, that it becomes hard to move on.
Bridge of Forgiveness – about how difficult love relationships can be and about how sometimes only forgiveness can free us up to move forward.
Face to Face – inspired by an old woman, looking at her grand-daughter, wondering whether she will achieve the dreams in her life, she has not
Love Songs & The Human Race – written after seeing a girl being clearly stood up. I wonder where she is now? I hope she’s happy.
Good Day – about preserving good times to help us through the bad.
No Fishing – this song is about the joy of living in the moment and not touching stuff outside of it. If anyone can truly do this then please let us know!
Don’t You Judge Her – written for a lot of folks that we’ve met on the streets in Manchester and London who have not just lost it all, but who have had it taken away before they even knew it could be theirs. Don’t judge them ‘cos you just don’t know – and we don’t know, do we? Do we even want to?
.....Dedicated to J.T. who somehow managed to hold it together
Not Your One – about the searing pain and shock of rejection.
Road of Bones – written after Chris saw “The Long Way Round” with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman. The final leg through Siberia took them through the harsh Siberian countryside – on a road built with the pain and suffering of many thousands of lives.
You’re In Me – about a degree of soul-mate love that you can’t run from, even when the going gets tough. Debi’s song for Baz!

Band Members:

Rachael Cooper - Lead Vocals & Backing Vocals

Debi Speakman - Lyricist

Baz Lowe - Drums & Percussion, Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Keyboards

Chris Picton - Bass Guitar, Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Keyboards

CHRIS:
After meeting Baz and Debi at college, and drifting apart, Chris joined various bands in the 80’s and 90’s and toured throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Been playing bass and guitar longer than I care to remember – have always had a passion for writing and recording, ever since the first 4 track machines came out – I would unload my gear from the band’s van in the middle of the night, so I could record at any possible opportunity. Released 2 albums, with a band by the name of Quecia, in 2002 and 2004, to much critical acclaim, but little commercial success. Had so many great times on the road, worked with and met some great characters. It’s been a joy recording with Barry, Debi and Rachael and can’t wait until the album is out there.
Likes: My family, who have always supported me in my musical career, Karen, Jamie, Joshua and Lucas. Most sports, but mainly football and Wigan Athletic. All types of music, but love 70’s progressive rock the most. Love watching live bands who can play their instruments.
Dislikes: Can’t stand manufactured pop drivel and the quick fix throw away TV pop stars. Premiership players who dive and cheat – watch some rugby, you wimps – don’t get me started on that one!
BAZ:
Been playing guitar for nearly 30 years on and off. Played first gig with Chris at Winstanley College in 1978!!! Took up the drums over ten years ago when our work band had three guitarists and no drummer – I always fancied myself as a drummer! Spent the last 25 years building a career – founded Comtech M2M – www.comtechm2m.com in 1992. Now concentrating on making music, having fun and reliving my lost years.
Likes: Debi (Soul-mate) and wonderful family (Ricky, Bobby, Tessa, Jay and Dog Ozzy named after the man himself!), Music (obviously and particularly gigs with the kids), Sports – particularly football (BWFC), Films (enjoyed Derailed), Top Gear – even read all Clarkson’s books.
Listening To: Dream Theater – Systematic Chaos
Recently Seen: Dream Theater – at Blackburn were simply awesome - last date of the European tour and everybody was up for a good time - Portnoy was mad!. Stereophonics and Heaven & Hell both put on a good show.
DEBI:
With a background in both general health and mental health nursing, have met some scared and badly hurt people. This and her own experience of depression has led to writing genuine and heartfelt lyrics. Has written poetry and a one act play in the past and is currently itching to get on with writing the lyrics to AngelEasy’s second album.
Happily divorced and now living with Baz and her own two gorgeous hearted children, Tessa and Jay, and mega blessed with inheriting Baz’s lads Ricky and Bobby (and loves Louis and Vicky loads too!)
Likes: Red wine (too much), dreaming (too much), D.H Lawrence, Seamus Heaney, Sylvia Plath (although she scares the hell out of me), Marion Keys, Absolutely Fabulous, Phoenix Nights, Our dog Ozzy, walking, camping rough, outdoor fires, having loads of people round, headbanging, Rachael & Chris (so genuine they are ace!)
Dislikes: Cruelty of any kind to man or beast, snobbery, gossips, dressing up, institutionalisation,
Influences: People I have met, my past and present, hope, our children,
RACHAEL:
Rachael met the band after a random phone call from Debi, after seeing an advertisement in a local music shop. Debi asked Rach to go for an interview and the rest is history…..
Rachael has been singing around the UK since the age of 18 with a party band but has more recently been solo in the glitzy hotels of Blackpool! After attending a pretty laid back audition Rachael fell in love with AngelEasy’s music and cracked on putting some of her ideas down. Since joining AngelEasy Rachael has been able to expand her skills with improvisation and is happy to have met 3 new top friends along the way.
Likes: Going to gigs and festivals, Going out with the girls, My beautiful dog! Bailey! Interested in cars although mine is a shed with wheels, Top Gear (Sunday night in), Swimming and trying to work out in the gym, Mums Roast dinner!
Dislikes: Dance/Trance Music (stresses me out), Spiders and flying insects, Fake people, Animal Cruelty, Fear of Drowning!
Influences: Heart, Peter Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Evanescence, Pink Floyd, John Wetton, King Crimson, Dream Theater, Rush, Pink and many more.........
Sounds Like: Fleetwood Mac, Heart, KT Tunstall, Evanescence, Kate Nash, Amy Macdonald, Natalie Imbruglia, Saving Jane, Michelle Branch, Rachael Yamagata, Pauline Croze, Carly Simon, Kate Miller-Heidke, Kate Walsh, Sarah Bettens, Emiliana Torrini, Kany Garcia, Petra, Vienna Teng, Judie Tzuke, Jefferson Starship,
