"Les In The City"
Les, the chief journalist for sleepy town's number one rated newspaper "The Afrodiisiac Times", is given an assignment. Afrodiisiac's ceo and founder Clint Malik has sent Les in a run down vintage van and a suitcase full of dreams to the lost city. The assignment is to pose as a struggling musician and fall deep into a world of intoxication, desire and music. With a ten page layout at stake and bonus pay for the cutting edge editorial, Les if forced to leave his sleepy town family, friends, sweetheart and everyting he knows behind. Quickly Les's struggles escalate, when he is forced to hold down odd jobs and do whatever it takes to find his story. As fate would have it, one cool autumn eve on the moon strip, a street brawl brakes out in front of the lost cities most exclusive hangout, club Shanghi. When the door man is distracted by the fist fight, Les drunkenly sneaks into the underground club house. Within the confines of the brick walls, the room was filled with a haze of marijuana smoke, nose candy, cognac and exotic fan dancing women.
Les soon realizes he has stumbled into the most notorious juke joint spot in town, Shanghi. In a subculture where art is reality, Vocal Pimp and his gang of rebels live or die by their expression. Les finally found what he was looking for. Amused by Les's naive demeanor, Vocal Pimp decides to take Les under his wing. In a world of sex, drugs and music Les becomes knee deep in a fast life he no longer can leave. What was suppose to be a fictitious starving musician has turned into a cold reality. With the juke joint battles getting more fierce against cross town rivals, Les is caught in the middle of a deadly underworld war. Seasons change and the heat rises in the city. Les soon finds himself engulfed in a steamy romantic affair with the most sought out leading lady in the picture shows, actress and fashion model ms.mary jane. On a warm summer night before les's biggest show battle, he confides his true identity to ms.jane that he's just a journalist from sleepy town. Later that night at shanghi's during a street dance off , a knife fight breaks out and results in a brutal murder. Les finnally drove himself into the fog of a dead end road. As things can not get more complicated Les recieves a call from sleepy town that would forever change his being...
This is the beginning of many more journeys to come. The saga of Les the nomadic journalist, are filled with passion, adventure and faith.
