John was born in 1973 under a Spanish sky where, from what I am told, one could hear a youth choir in the distance. His parents were more like fish as they lived on a boat off the Ivory Coast, which surprisingly ran out of ivory a long time ago. Regardless, his father turned to a salmon and swam upstream and his mom remained a tuna. Around the age of 9 John got a visit from a family of dolphins and soon swam away from home to join his new found mammal brethren. He spent 3 years underwater until finally resurfacing around the Potomac/Chesapeake Bay area. He bought his first guitar when he was 13 and has been trailing up and down the East Coast of America ever since, playing to old folks and hobos and whoever was kind enough to give him a ride or a place to stay. These songs are more of an amalgamation of gases and extraneous nervous twitches that should have stayed in the ocean. He now resides in Portland, Oregon but still prefers Melbourne, Australia. Full stop.
