About Me

Powerfield are a 4-piece rock band based in the UK. The band has a wealth of musical experience and is regarded as probably one of the top bands currently touring. As the name suggests the band deliver a 'powerful' brand of rock with a modern cutting edge and their influences include Bon Jovi, Stereophonics, Queen, Bryan Adams, The Police, Green Day, Free, Bad Company, Whitesnake, Pink Floyd, U2, Gary Moore, Van Halen, Snow Patrol, Billy Idol, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica and Foo Fighters. The band is the brainchild of lead singer John Haynes who teamed up with long time friend, bass player Sime Carter and highly rated drummer Tris Hopper. Up and coming guitarist Steve Burchell completed the line-up and Powerfield was born in May 2005. Burchell left after 12 months to seek fame and fortune in the USA and is now lead guitarist with LA rockers ZanKoma. Powerfield then secured the services of respected guitar virtuoso Andy Richards in May 2006 and haven't looked back since.Powerfield can be seen gigging across the UK and have appeared at both Biker and Music Festivals as well as regular rock venues. The band would like to thank all those many friends that have provided encouragement and support recently, but those that deserve a special mention include: John Lengyel, Dave & Steve Burchell, Gary Russell @ Nottingham Bands, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, Martin & Marc @ Birdhouse Design, Rob Hewins, Sue Alderson our No. 1 fan, Mick Moonshine, Measham WMC & of course our long suffering families, cheers we owe you a beer!!

Band Members: John Haynes is renowned for his powerful voice, broad vocal range & unique tone. He also possesses the ability to connect with an audience & it’s these qualities that have permanently put him on the map as one of the finest vocalists around. John comes from a musical background & has inherited a deep passion for writing & performing rock music.
Andy Richards is a hard rocking guitarist renowned for his versatility & dynamics. He’s a true musician & it’s difficult to pin down exactly what makes him so unique. He's not a super flashy guy who'll melt your face with technique, but he has his own distinctive style and sound, and that puts him ahead of a lot of players. Andy’s solos are noted for being well-composed and emotional but he can throw in speed and 'virtuosity' for good measure.
Sime Carter is a highly accomplished musician & lyricist. He has many years playing experience & is now revered as one of the most competent Bass players about. He is brimming with intense energy tempered by a clearheaded confidence and seriousness. Sime exudes uncommon coolness coupled with a sharp sense of humour which makes him one of the most popular guys around.
Tris Hopper applies a precision & intensity to his drumming which results in a style which is both punchy & distinctive. His unwavering dedication to the art of drumming means that he doesn't just hold the beat, he drives the whole thing along. He combines power, technique & formidable speed to create a unique style & sound. Tris formerly studied under Bob Armstrong (Independent) & Neil Cooper of Therapy?.
