7th Street Garage is the result of previously untapped creative energy and passion for all forms of electronica music.
Formed in Boston, in the Winter of 2006, 7th Street Garage is the product of Steve Brown and Anthony Wooten. Their mission is to get out their own creative expression of electronic music. They draw upon inspiration from a wide range of electronic dance music styles, house, progressive house, techno, trance, electro, drum and bass, tribal, and so on. The goal is to combine their passion for electronic music into sound productions that reflect the inner melodies and grooves stirring inside them. Thus allowing them to entertain those like minded individuals with music that is full of new sounds and ideas that can get people on the dance floor or take them to another place and time.
Steve and Anthony both develop and arrange the structure for any given track using grooveboxes, step sequencers, synths, and a mac. All of the music come from this setup and interaction between the two members. Steve's strength lies within the melodic driven sections of the music. Besides the sequencer he also uses a full sized synthersizer to create the mood and set the scene whether it is a ride to the cosmos or a plunge into the murky depths. Anthony finds his passion leads to the energy, pace, and production of a track. Drums, samples, and sound effect manipulation are handled by him using a mixture of hardware and software. He is constantly changing the flow of any given track with the well timed touch and twist of a few knobs.
7th Street Garage has performed at local shows in the Boston and southern NH area. They also performed their original sets live on www.aspectradio.com for DJ Midas on his internet broadcast show, Meltdown City.
In 2006 they met up with a producer named Radius to have a couple of their tracks remixed on an album. Radius Productions remixed two of their tracks and included them in the release of the album: Pulsatile Affect.
In 2008 7th Street Garage recently released an original track - Nixon, under the label, Sundesire Records. Keep an eye out for future releases from this production duo.
