The group was started in 2001, by two High School Classmates, both having a crazy passion for Raw,Real Hip-Hop culture. At the time and still today, Both members are rebelious in their own unique ways(thus the name DRC,meaning DED RONG CREW or DOMINANT REBEL CAMP), being fueled by social pressures, influenced by issues such as racism,gangsterism,drug abuse, alcoholism and street violence. They decided to start a 2man crew, making their own music to air their own opinions,which revolves around what they see,from their own points of view.Their style of music, ranges from battle to hardcore revolutionary rap. However, they focus more on the revolutionary and social upliftment side of life.Spitting both in English and Vernac(Cape Flats Afrikaans), they come through with hardcore lyrics, witty punchlines and hard-hitting beats to match.DED RONG CREW has done many live performances, at various venues.*Belhar High School Hall Talent Show March 2004
