I live for Rock & Roll, it's in my blood, it's in my soul... got a fever I can't control, I live for Rock & Roll !!!
These lyrics from 'The Rods' describe best what STORMBRINGER stands for: a solid band with a respectable repertoire from the hard & heavy scène of the 70s – 80s and 90s.
The band was founded by Peter Mahy and Dirk Roosen after the split up of the Trash-Metal band: 'Burn'. Despite a series of gigs that gave the band quite some respect and a good live reputation, both agreed that it wasn’t easy to appeal to the public with own productions, while the public is often influenced by the successful producers of the moment. Bringing covers however ignited a spark between the audience and the band: the fire of these classics burnt into the minds of the metalheads was brought back to life.
That’s when the founders decided to start the cover band STORMBRINGER. The result: a varied and qualitatively high 'play list' that appeals to everyone in favour of the heavier scene, with covers from big bands as Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, Metal Church, AC/DC, Saxon, Down, Dio, etc.
The nice thing about their play list is also the fact that they’ve tried to include enormously popular classics as well as less known ones, so that the audience can discover something they had perhaps never heard before.
STROMBRINGER consists of a core of musicians with over 20 years of experience: the founders (Peter and Dirk) on the guitars and René Marteaux behind the drums, completed with less experienced but very promising musician Tom Ruyters on the bass and lead singer Christophe Permentier.
To keep a long story short, STORMBRINGER has what it takes to put this genre back where it belongs: at the top!
Reason enough to come and check out what the 'power of metal' can do to your soul !
