Elinor Fair, also known as Eleanor Fair, Leonore Fair and Eleanore Crowe was born December 21, 1903 in Richmond Virginia. Not much is known about her early life other than she acted in vaudville, started work in silent movies in 1916 and was elected a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1924. During the 1920's she was a known and loved actress and had her best roles working for Cecil B Demille. He made her the lead in 1926's Volga Boatman which was probably her biggest movie. She went on to act in many more movies some of which also starred her then husband William Boyd (1926-1929). After her marriage ended in 1929, Elinor continued to act although the parts were less important and more scarce. In the early 1930's she had a fight with her fiance and ran off to marry someone else out of spite. After the divorce she ended up marrying the same man again only to have that marriage end up in divorce court also. By the mid 1930's Elinor was financially broke and couldn't afford her rent or medical bills. Later she moved to Seattle Washington and she passed away on April 26, 1957.
