Hi Folks! This is something about myself,
Progressive metal guitarist Romzy was born in Singapore, into a musical family. He’s been playing guitar for about 26 years. Starting on classical–trained keyboard at the age of 6, he switched to guitar at age 8. By the age of 14, he was working regularly with the best progressive rock musicians in Singapore City, receiving valuable on-the-bandstand experience at an unusually young age. Romzy first burst onto the heavy metal scene in 1986. Over the course of his three-year stint with Band called, Piece By Piece, the young Javanese roots already displayed his soon-to-become trademarked playing style, which blended the loose and flexible articulation customarily reserved for guitar players with advanced rhythmic and harmonic sensibility - a way of playing and improvising that was modern in conception but grounded deeply in the rock, metal, neo classical tradition of melody, jazz, fusion, funk and the blues. Romzy’s versatility is almost nearly without peer on any instrument. Over the years, he has performed with artists in Singapore as diverse as Band name Piece By Piece, Mickey’s Mouth, Screamers, Mind’s Eye, Noizz, Train Of Thought, Acoustika Inc, Ma.PhiA Inc, Coloured Walls, Rock Axe, Crash Natalie, Raven, Laura West (New York), Gravity Blonde (New Jersey) and Vice Versa (New Jersey). He’s influence in music writing are as guitarists Vinnie Moore to Paul Gilbert to Tony MacAlpine to John Petrucci (Dream Theater). He is currently living in Singapore and learning everything there is to know about recording, producing, and engineering an album himself. It's all part of the way Romzy sees life and its challenges. Creating something original and enduring is yet another matter. And that's where Romzy's approach to songwriting comes in. The song Fly, leads the listener along gorgeous musical landscapes, with the notes of the guitar confidently leading the way. Imagine that you’re in a plane, looking down from the window and see how beautiful the world is from up there. Still other tunes, like Systematic Arrangement take a melodic hook and build it to a fevered pitch.
