About Me

Born and raised in México City, México, Carlos Murguía grew up around music since day one. Being the son of both musician parents, the level of musicality in the house was always very high. “Singing and playing an instrument was as normal as going to school for us ..... classical and jazz music were on all the time". • In 1974 at the early age of 15, Carlos was already on the road with a band traveling the United States exploring all genres of music, finding a special fondness for R&B and Funk. • "..... I was thrown in front of a Hammond B-3 organ by my two older musician brothers and told that was to be my instrument”. • “I hated it! it was so un-cool, big and old fashioned looking! I wanted to be a guitar player instead, but my brother had that chair already. Then they showed me a Tower of Power record with Chester Thompson playing B-3 and it was all over for me”. •In 1982, during a pretty successful recording career in México with his brothers band Tabasco, Carlos moved away to the U.S. permanently, where Disneyland and Walt Disney World became “boot camp” for him by leading the house band Krash for almost 10 years, which by the way, today part of that band features as Luis Miguel's incredible rhythm section. • Early in the 90's he became part of Funk/Jazz band The Art of Sax performing in numerous Jazz festivals through out the US. and recording 2 albums with them before parting ways once again in 1998. •Since then he's become a L.A. studio musician/singer/producer, working with producers and artists ranging from David Foster, Humberto Gatica, Ariff Mardin, Patrick Leonard, Jorge Calandrelli, Benny Faccone, Pat Williams, Diane Warren to Luis Miguel, Enrique Iglesias, Alexandro Sanz, Aleks Syntek, Billy Preston, Santana, Tom Scott, just to mention a few .....• Some of his credits also go to singing lead and background vocals for Soundtracks and TV shows such as "The Flinstones Movie" • "The Emperor's new Groove"• "Happy Feet" • "The Simpsons" • "Why do fools fall in love" and many more. • Live performances include playing Hammond B-3 with Blood Sweat & Tears (2006-2007), Ellis Hall & the Truth and Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night. • You might remember him as the MD for "Mas Vale Tarde" late night show in Telemundo.Today Carlos is a Grammy Nominated producer who still enjoys playing live music and traveling the road as well as making POP/R&B records in Los Angeles Ca. •••••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••••Hey everybody!!!!! this is Carlos' son Diego, I am hosting an internet webshow for charity called All Star Planet .
