Echol Simpon, II was born September 28, 1990 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He’s had a song in his heart since a very young age, and has always been eager to perform either at home or in church. Songwriting comes naturally to him, and he composed his very first song in the first grade. Evidence of his spiritual inspiration came when a visitor to the church was led to salvation after being convicted by eight-year-old Echol’s performance.While Echol’s faith could have been shaken during his parent’s divorce, he continued to stay grounded and drew strength from his mother, Delores, and older siblings Jarvis and Britney. This tight-knit group relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana and began to build a new life for themselves. Their new church family embraced them, and Echol received more and more opportunities to perform. At their new church home Echol would also meet his best friend Koreyon and form the rap group known as M.O.E. Minds Of Excellence. They quickly became a favorite “Youth Night” performance and was invited to other churches. Performing under the name “Remix”, word of Echol's and Koreyon's talent spread in the community. This led to the opportunity to perform as the opening act for comedian Lil’ JJ. In January of 2007 Koreyon relocated to Los Angeles, California, and this led to Remix's solo career which is a becoming a success.In many ways, Echol is just an average high school senior with an after school job at Marty's.
