About Me

Where do I start? Born in Colorado Springs, moved to Nevada at 10 months (Air Force brat), then on to England, Florida, New Mexico, Michigan, a stint in New Jersey with my German grandmother, then Japan! Landed at age 14 in Myrtle Beach, SC (Somebody shoot me, please!). Since then some college at USC in Columbia, a summer in Portland, Oregon, a month or so in Charlotte, NC, and a summer as costumer of HORN IN THE WEST in Boone, NC--but mostly I've lived in Myrtle Beach, Socastee (a suburb of MB), and, for the last 20-odd years, in Conway, the county seat of Horry Co. (Pronounced oh-ree; it's French, a big mistake in SC).My second greatest passion in life is theatre--onstage, backstage, out in the house, helping in the lobby. I don't care! Just let me be there, a LOT! I'll let you guess as to the nature of my FIRST greatest passion ;-). Love acting, directing, dancing, singing, sewing (especially costumes), making props. I'm a fool for a really jumpin' rock song (hence, my headline, which is a nickname given me by a group of friends). I'm also crazy about cats, and I'm a tree hugger. I'm a very loyal and devoted friend (a Virgo). AND Jesus is just alright with me.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Isadora Duncan, but she's dead. Sir Laurence Olivier, likewise. Tom Petty, who's VERY much alive. And Madeleine L'Engle, my favorite author. Aside from celebs, living or dead, I like to meet all kinds of people, but especially people who enjoy conversation and "deep thoughts" :-), and people who like the things I like, of course.

Friends

Some people just suddenly present themselves in your life and you can't help but think, "Yes, this is a friend."  Others "worm" their way in.  Who knows why certain people simply appeal to u...

Le Grande Cirque

The category was chosen for lack of a better one.  Art--yes, Le Grande Cirque is that.  Kinesthetic art as the main focus, but there is also a LOT of visual art.  The costumes are fabul...

Storms

Out of school today because of Ophelia.  In '89, my husband, our daughter, and I survived Hugo by staying right where we were, our inland farmhouse outside of Conway.  The tornado that ran t...

Summer's End

Being an elementary art teacher, I've been back to work for a couple of weeks now, but the "summer" didn't really seem to be over because I've been working with the Murder Mysteries all summer and was...
