I am in a band here in Colorado Springs with the best friends anyone could ever have. The name of my band is Rent To OWn, we have been playing together since September of 2003. We are punk/alt-rock/pop.Despite the fact our name will make you think that your favorite venue is up for lease, Rent To Own are the newest up and comers to Colorado Springs. This punk/alt-rock/pop band effortlessly incorporates harmony and aggression into a rambunctious mix that is purely infectious. Singing about their friends, music, boredom, and persistence, their songs are loaded with enough addictive melodies, dive-bombing guitars and foot stomping drums that it will soon become your guilty pleasure.My childhood friend Omar is the drummer of the band, we stated this band when we were children with our younger brothers. Unfortunetly at the time their music interest weren't the same as ours, and that band didn't stay together for long. A few years later we were starting up again and we were going to call ourselfs 2PH (for 2 Plastic Hnagers that Omar had to play with because he had broken all of his sticks). That venture never panned out (thank god).I graduated from high school and went to college in St. Louis, and left Omar in the Springs where he was finishing high school. I couldn't stay away for that long though, I left college only after two years and came back to the Springs to start up a band with Omar. After a year of me being back we met up with this kid (Brandon) who went to high school with us and was in Omar's class moved back from Tennesse. Brandon happend to come over to my apartment at the time for a party that I was having, he picked up my guitar and started playing and Omar and I looked at each other and said this is the guy we want for our band. We jamed our for the first couple of practices and realized that we fit together well. Now we just had to find a basses.After several months of playing as a three piece, we realized that we could take the band to another level. Enters bassist Chris Clark, who was recruited while answering a flyer at a local music store. Since then we have been together.
