Dragstrip Grind was formed in February 2007 when friends and former band mates Chris “Books†Bookstaver (vocals/guitar) and Danny “JD†Grossberg (bass) decided to collaborate once again on a new project forged on Books' idea to create the filthiest rock imaginable. After experiencing some initial growing pains that saw Books transition from the lone guitarist to the front man of the band in 2008, a need for a second guitar was made plain. Simultaneously, Erik Schenck (lead guitar), another former band mate and current rhythm guitarist from Bled For Glory, expressed an interest in joining. The rediscovered chemistry between the three was immediate and powerful. Pulling again from Bled For Glory, the trio sought the services of long-time rock n’ roll drummer Vinnie Rossi whose hard-hitting and rhythmic parts completed Books’ vision.
To those who ask, Dragstrip Grind is described as “DIRTY FUCKIN ROCK!!! ...If you woke up still drunk, not knowing where the hell you were...you don't remember the name of the half-naked chick still passed out next to you...your mouth tastes like you were swilling whiskey out of an ashtray ...cigarette butts and burns all over the carpet........ THAT kinda Rock & Roll!†This music is not about trying to create a society that doesn’t judge. It’s about being judged and just not giving a flying fuck. It’s mean, it’s raunchy and it’s real. If you don’t like it, don’t listen.
