Trezo Mare

The word "Trezo" was derived from two sources. The word "tre(s)" is Italian and Spanish for "three", which symbolizes the three generations of seafood and restaurant expertise that have served as the basis for the Trezo Mare story. Also, "trezo" borrows from the English word "treasure" as well as "tesoro" which means treasure in both Italian and Spanish. The "z" makes the word easier to pronounce and gives the name an exclusive, contemporary feel.Mare is the Italian word for sea. It aknowledges our desire to become Kansas City's finest seafood restaurant, without limiting ourselves to that descriptor. Because of the restaurant's Midwest locale, we took the liberties of adding an accent on the "e" to encourage proper pronunciation of the word.Combined, the words form a distinctive name that we define as meaning " Treasures of the Sea". The four syllables give the name a lilting air, and conjure up images of an adventurous escape to foreign lands.
