BLACK MANALISHI

About Me

Black Manalishi have now firmly established themselves as one of THE bands to see in the UK at the moment.
Taking influence from ‘70's hard rockers, the band combine free-wheelin’ musical improvisation, delicately crafted song writing, and an immense wall of sound. Live, they are truly a band to be witnessed and fully deserve the accolades they have recently received.
Based in the North West, the band has recently rocked venues across the country and now has a loyal, wide fan base, including an international contingent!
Quotes About The Band:
"Old School Power Rock"; "Stunning"
Todd Smith, editor of The Cutting Edge (www.thecutting-edge.net) and co-author of Heavy Load, the story of Free
"The North's best rock/blues band - FACT! ...Led Zep for the 21st Century."
James Dorset, Ranch Studios
"Lead guitarist reminded me of Kossoff - and I knew him better than most. Singer definitely had a lot of Rodgers in him too, outstanding."
Jim Wilson, (Free's head roadie)
"Black Manalishi... a band with a great future ahead of them. The best new band I've seen in years, and I think everyone who saw them at Drumming Up Hope would agree with me. They are simply **** hot!"
Mark Cunningham, co-organiser of music festival Drumming Up Hope (www.drumminguphope.com) & international editor of Total Production Magazine (www.markcunningham.net)
"I ultimately think that Black Manalishi are the best band I've interviewed, they were very friendly in the studio at Halton FM, they were very professional, and had a fantastic sense of humour, they are a real pleasure to listen to."
Martin Knox, Halton FM
"It’s good to hear a band with such a fantastic groove and feel for classic rock and a band tightness that is only present in musicians that can play to such a high standard."
