About Me
Rottweil / Dogtown October 19, 2002
Stony Sunshine was for the first time deejaying in the former Moes Chillout Jugendcafe. At that time he simply called himself „DJ Stony“ and was heating up the location quite well as a hip-hop and reggae DJ. There were some follow-ups, but in the beginning it was very hard to bring some Reggae and Dancehall to the hiphop-crowd.
The records he used were mainly obtained from Blessed Love Record Store, Stuttgart, until Stony jobbed at the Musikbox Record Store, Rottweil in 2003. There one could notice a rapid increase of the „File under reggae“-items. Since that time, only two or three hip-hop tunes are heard on Stony‘s parties. In 2003, Stony regularly had gigs in the autonomous Schlachthof („Slaughterhouse“) youth center and at various parties at the APO (Alte Post)in Rottweil. The attendance rose from 50 to 300 when there were guest appearances of MC Rob Hak (Ursüsse / Kein Ding). Especially the Schlachthof was bursting at the seams, and our dream came true: Reggae finally had its place to go in Rottweil. In 2003 and 2004, the legendary Schneefeldfestivals, conceived and hosted by Robert Hak, took place at the MUM, Rottweil. There - and at the APO - the enthusiastically acclaimed Panama Riddim Section performed. Now even the last in line realized that reggae was the new big thing. At that time, DJ Nastea got in touch with Stony for to organize parties at the Hauptbahnhof-Club Rottweil. Hence, a good friendship evolved, which also produced good vibes for the dancefloor. The respective clubs were always very crowded, and at prime time people waited in queues at the entrance. In 2005 there were again parties at the Schlachthaus, featuring MC Rob Hak, Naks and DJ Nastea (now „Kein Ding“). Selecta Stony Sunshine worked as a support DJ with Ursüsse and Silent Surface. Touring cross-country, they met some of the many other Soundbwoys who were on the scene at that time.
Two of them were Selecta Mr. Krabbz and Selecta Mad Monkey, nowadays Bloodclaat Selectaz. In 2005, we had our first gig at the Sensi Sound Party at the youth club Schwennigen. The party was a real blockbuster, sheer madness on the dancefloor, the ground trembled and the house waggled - and this is no exaggeration! Thereafter, Stony Sunshine was deejaying every first saturday of the month at the Delta Club, Donaueschingen. Finally in 2006, the Bloodclaat Selectaz Soundsytem was founded. Krabbz brought along the first bass speakers and the first dubplate was being recorded. There was also a very loyal massive growing which came to each dance.Initially much Breakbeat and Jungle was played, therefore the name should sound pretty evil in order to frighten off other Soundbwoys. Gradually, the sound changed to off-beat tunes and became more bass-orientated: Jungle / Funk / Reggae / Rap / Dancehall - The best black music - all mixed up!In Summer 2006, a friendship with Singjay Jr.Pepsi Brown evolved. In Rottweil, he managed to fill the Hauptbahnhof Club, subsequently we had gigs at some other clubs and also two times at the Chiemsee Reggae Festival in Bavaria. From 2006 to 2008, the Bloodclaat Sound System was resident at the Kapuziner (Cultural Center in Rottweil). There were also bookings of the Jagga Bites Combo, Silent Surface, Panama, House of Riddim, Yah Meek, Jah SESCO, Riddim Kingz,
and many other artists.Currently Mr. Krabbz provides the perfect Jungle sound for Helsinki, Finland. Mad Monkey wowes the Stuttgart scene with Raggamuffin and Stony Sunshine bites it out in Freiburg.Bloodclaat Selectaz represent Jamaican music everytime! Big up for the massive who always came to the dance, no matter where it was !!!!!
