A man walks into a bar and takes a seat. The barkeep asks "is that a duck on your head or a myspace profile?" They both have brief chuckle before he puts the witty gentleman to work. "Screwdriver, no ice." He gives a glance to the far end where a half tatered feminine is feeding quarters to a juke currently belting out a chorus of "New York, New York". Stale beer and smoke begin to offend the olfactory passages when his drink arrives, four more of these will at least take the edge off this place. "Gracias Amigo", with a tip of his hat and a ring of the bell he slam dunks Mr. Washington into the tip jar.
"So where were we?" "Oh yes, about me, well thats tricky business. I mean, what do you tell someone one about yourself to really give them an idea who you are, do you just hit the cliff notes in some arbitrary fashion? Or do you put your best foot forward as if you were on a first date? I mean eventually the new wears off and you're just an average schmuck with no real discernible identity. I know what you're thinking, the glass is half empty. Maybe it is and maybe you give it a go anyway. 'I play guitar & take photographs, try to be creative but a some of the time life gets in the way.'
"..............if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere" "Tell 'em, Frank!" "I guess you have to ask yourself 'what makes me happy?' "Good friends and good times. Music that gives you goose bumps. The soft caress of a womans skin. Days where everything falls into place. All good things, but in reality they all come about so infrequently. Life is about patience and optimism. You loose those two virtues you'll find yourself with a string of sleepless nights and a Xanax habit. Not quite there, I suspect I'll be able to hang on. Nothings forever, if you cling to what you've grown accustom to eventually you'll be disappointed. If you can make your heart a rock do it, if you can't just don't let on that you can't.
On any given day I could be someone completely different, but you're not going to see it on the surface. Self evident, I'm going to leave this text in tact and see who I am tomorrow. Ciao..."
