Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1952, Tibor Barkoczy was six years old when he started playing the piano.
Although his jazz band took him all over Europe, Vienna became especially dear to his heart and is now the center of his life and the primary source of his musical inspiration.
Tibor Barkoczy's versatility is reflected in his artistic career. He draws inspiration from different genres, interweaving and interpreting them in a new manner in every performance. His style is distinct, reflecting both his personal touch and unique verve.
Jazz, Pop, Funk, Soul – Tibor Barkoczy's skills at all of these genres is manifested on two !DelaDap CDs, Louie Austen's “Easy Love†and, most recently, the Jengis & Tibor album “Heart and Soul†(2007).
Tibor Barkoczy currently draws his inspiration from his collaboration with Helmut Neugebauer and Melinda Stoika, with whom he founded the smooth lounge and jazz formation "Strictly Confidential".
His first CD " Tibor Barkoczy-Selected Work" came out May, 2008.Tibor is currently in Studio with his own CD Production "Amaro Shavo", wich is coming out end of 2008, a Modern Gipsy Jazz Project, with Melinda Stoika.He is also working on his new Album.
