A real late-comer to the singer/songwriter thing…it’s only been the past couple of years or so that I started writing although I’ve been a singer all my life. I was always known around the place as “that girl that always singsâ€.
I sang madrigals and other classical stuff and choir at school, played the flute/piccolo (well) and guitar (very average). I badly wanted to learn the piano and wish I had!
I’ve performed in musical theatre although nothing huge. I’d LOVE to do that again!
I sang in church for years, and didn’t really come back into performing in venues until 2006 and I am really enjoying it so much – you forget just how exciting it all is!
I sang in a band in the 80s, mostly original stuff written by a crazy-ish dude named Bruce…I wonder whatever happened to him? We were way too early for our time…the punters just weren’t ready for us. Mistral Wind certainly were original!
I’ve been writing a bit this year and I hope to have an album of songs recorded and turned into something beautiful…if it doesn’t turn out quite as planned then I wont be short of Christmas and birthday gifts for my friends and colleagues!
I love music and although I get a lot of enjoyment out of rock, blues, pop, jazz, you name it, I really do lean towards the country side of things….I don’t really know how I’d categorise my songs…nouveau folk perhaps.
I perform weekly with Billy at local venues, wineries, etc. It’s an acoustic covers gig where we do really laid back versions of all your pub favourites….and sometimes I'll add a few of mine in for a change. Come down and say hi sometime, I’d love to see you!
Stay happy!
