The Mondays
‘The Mondays’ are a young and exciting new Jazz group from the Netherlands. Founded in 2007 under the watchful eye of Jazz veteran Geert Roelofs, they experiment in both old style and progressive jazz. The combination of members from all musical styles allow for a fresh and innovative look upon the jazz genre.
Highlights are for example their performance at the Middelburg Jazz Festival in 2008 and their highly successful ‘Pub and Play’ tour in the winter of 2008.
Not scared to experiment and constantly evolving, ‘The Mondays’ are working on a full-scale album which will be due late 2009, to be recorded at the well-known ‘Crescendo Studios’ in Belgium. 'Wie beweert dat jazz oubollig en saai is, heeft het mis. ‘Good old jazz’ is herrezen en weer springlevend. The Mondays, een vijfkoppige jazzband, levert het bewijs.'
