Named after Brigitte Bardot(my middle name as well as my aunt's), I am half French and half American and also the lucky mother of 2 wonderful boys. My mother was born and raised in a small village in the northeast of France called Bar-le-Duc, where most of my family live today. In Bar-le-Duc, there are vineyards and castles minutes away from my grandparents' home. Mom went off to Cambridge University in London and received her masters in English and became an English teacher here, eventually, for a very short period of time. The school systems are very different than what she was used to in France, so she found another career. My father is a Louisiana native, who was on a church mission, the Belgium/France mission, when he met my mom. He proposed at the train station in Paris on his way home and she said yes. The rest is history. She has been here ever since and goes back to visit her family every year. Mom and dad are still hopeless romantics! A couple of years ago, mom was in France on their anniversary and dad surprised her by calling her parents, keeping everything a secret, showing up on my grandparents' doorstep in France dressed as a pizza delivery man (my aunt is the mayor of the small village-so she hooked him up with that), and he had a dozen roses and a card inside his pizza box. Mom opened the door and just cried. They spent their anniversary together in France. Now, that's love! :)
