The Sly Digs hail from Long Beach, CA. and draw from a wide variety of
influences across a diverse range of genres. The main ingredients of energetic Indie/Space Rock are braised and simmered with Post-Punk, Rockabilly, Spaghetti Country & Western, Surf, Garage, Psychedelia and a dash of Funk/R&B. The result is a truly accessible musical conglomerate (refered to as “Sly-Fiâ€) that offers a wide range of appeal and reveals a rather unconventional pop sensibility.
The Sly Digs have shared the stage with such acts as Banyan (Stephen Perkins, Mike Watt, Nels Cline et.al.) and Trulio Disgracias (Norwood Fisher of Fishbone), as well as countless local acts. In early 2008, they released a four song EP, entitled “Eee Peeâ€. They are currently working in the studio with Mike Martt (Tex & the Horseheads, Thelonious Monster & Low and sweet Orchestra) on their second studio release, entitled “1000 Voices From a One Track Mindâ€. The Album is set for independent release in August of 2009. The Sly Digs are currently booking shows/festival dates for summer 2009 and later, across the US, in order to support the new record
and gain exposure to a wider national audience.
