Obliquity

About Me

Over 10 years performing at raves and clubs throughout the United States and still going strong. Obliquity prefers not to be tied down to one genre of music and can be found emceeing to anything from house and trance to hardcore and gabber. After spending most of his 10+ years emceeing to hardcore and DnB he has gone back to his roots where it all began and is now spending much of his time emceeing to house and occasionally trance music with the likes of many djs and producers from all walks of life.
In 2008 Obliquity opened up the stage as the hype man for a 20 massive tag team set that laid the tracks for an incredible performance by trance superstar ATB. During the early part of this century he worked closely with notorious UK Garage/2 Step crew, The Steppers Alliance (see Time Magazine) to help usher in a sound that was new to the states. Over the years he has graced the stage with and/or opened for the hardcore likes of Scott Brown, Hixxy, Luna C, No Left Turn, Milo, Spree, Squiggles, NATO, Twilight and more. Obliquity is currently working on some projects that will show off his true flexibility in vocal work while doing some solo recording as well as working with local and national talent.
As stated up above, most of his work these days is back at the roots of his soul. He currently spends much of his time singing to deeper and funkier sounds of house music. Like they always say, home is where is the heart is and we all know that home is house. The funkier feel and energy of house allows Obliquity to tap into the more soulfull side of himself and show the depth of his vocals through a combination of melodic singing intertwined with witty emcee rhymes. If you want to feel the funk then this is where it is all at.
No matter what style of music Obliquity is performing to he always provides a rollercoaster ride of energetic lyrics to compliment the music as well as a stage presence that brings the crowd to a whole new level. Off stage he is an easy going guy that always carries a smile while on stage he brings a rockstar attitude.
