SMTG 5-008 :: ANDUIN "FOREVER WAITING" CD
"A convincing display of, if not light and shade, then beguiling gradations of darkness." - The Wire (UK)
"Anduin definitely puts about 90 percent of cd-r floorcore dronemusic to shame, this drone approached like songs instead of sounds, this is the sort of record that blossoms with more listens, headphones are mandatory, dig deeper, get lost, let the sounds swallow you whole, carry you off. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED." - Aquarius Records (USA)
"Forever Waiting is an immersive, all consuming record, one that not only grabs you with a vice-like grip, but draws you underneath its charred, blackened skin towards the hypnotic beating of its heart." - Angry Ape (UK)
"Pensive and brooding arrangements make for interesting and intellectual soundscapes that showcase both sides of the light/dark spectrum. Forever Waiting is a masterclass in progressive dark-ambience." - Experimusic (UK)
"I had to hear it again. And again. Miasmah via Morricone, perhaps. Bacon himself would surely approve." - Mapsadaisical (UK)
"Jonathan Lee... brings together some odd textural sounds in a unique way... it's the dark-wave synth work and and muffled doom sounds that give the seriously creepy vibe. There's plenty deep, claustrophobic passages... offering up just enough of a skeletal percussive element to really ratchet up the tension." - Almost Cool (USA)
"Deeply engrossing material = Highly Recommended." - Boomkat (UK)
"Rumbling basslines and surges of growling synthesizers, swarms of noisy minutiae swirling and roiling in the depths of the drifting ambience, and fractured hypnotic rhythms formed from percussive loops and skittering electronica... some of the most gorgeous melodic drone music of recent memory. Highly recommended... one of my favorite albums of 2008." - Crucial Blast (USA)
Forever Waiting is the debut full length from Richmond VA's Jonathan Lee (aka Anduin), member of experimental band Souvenir's Young America (Crucial Blast). Hypnotic pulses creep between effect soaked field recordings and waves of rumbling synth, blurring the line between shadowy soundscaping and claustrophobic atmospherics. 8 songs of dark ambient, kaleidoscopic bliss. Close your eyes, put the headphones on, and let your body float down river to beautiful, dark places. Featuring appearances by artists like Xela (Type), Jasper TX (Miasmah), Noah Saval, Caustic Castle, Clifford Schwing, and Bryan Walthall. Mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Sunn).
LP+CD = $16.50 ppd US $26.50 UK / Europe / World $22.00 Canada / Mexico (silk screened covers with art by Zachary Howard (Conifer, Oxbow))
CD = $9.50 ppd US $14.00 World (jewel case with art by Sasha Barr (Sub Pop, Ninja Tune))
