Blacklight Revelation was formed in early 2008 when ex-Mercy for Mary guitarist and vocalist Marcus Aurelius re-united with brother and local drum legend Lonny Simpkins of Distilled Spirits fame. The two took root in a new studio, new songs, and a new direction. The pair then recruited bassist Nardine Andy from Destiny's End and second guitarist Mike Gonzalez which gave the band more depth and an even bigger sound. They began playing live shows to an eager and enthusiastic crowd where hype followed and a buzz ensued. BLR has since parted ways with Mike and original bassist Nardine Andy and restructured their sound with the addition of new bassist Henry De La Cruz, who comes from the seminal LA thrash band-Maniacal Genocide, and guitarist John Spangler (Duchess De Sade/Manical Genocide/Hatred/etc.) They've elected to write Rock-N-Roll, play Rock-N-Roll, and live Rock-N-Roll by using BLR as their conducer. "Words nor praise are fair to say...it seems BLR is here to stay"
