In 2005 I started writing songs that I hoped and prayed would bring glory to the Lord. They are all original songs that tell of the change that has happened in my life since turning my life over to Jesus Christ. My prayer is that the Lord will use these songs to reach others with the good news about Jesus. Jeff Norman and I have a street ministry where we play these songs on acoustic guitars downtown in Placerville. It has been an incredible blessing so far. That is where the name Hangtown Prophets comes from. Placerville used to be known as "old Hangtown." A prophet is someone who brings a message from the Lord. We do not claim to bring any new revelation from God, but we do proclaim the radical message of hope, love and truth found in His word. Our CD is finally complete, and we have finally found the guitar player and drummer we have been searching for! After playing in several Metal bands for around 16 years I had grown tired of the dark messages I was writing. I knew the truth about Jesus Christ but I had wandered far away from Him and it led me into a lifestyle that was filled with alcohol and drug use. In 2000 I turned my life over to Jesus. He has delivered me from the bondage of those things, and I know I will be with Him in Heaven when I die. He has given us hope and a new life! He gives eternal life to all who repent of their sin and place their trust in Him. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life" It says in Romans 3:23 that "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God is holy and perfect and God cannot have fellowship with sinful man. If we die without forgiveness of our sins we will be eternally separated from God in Hell. John 14:6 "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross and to take the punishment we deserve, so that we could have a personal relationship with Him. All who call on His name and ask for forgiveness for their sins will be born again and recieve eternal life! They will be made right with God. We are all so thankful to be able to play music for the Lord now! The songs on this cd are a wide variety of musical styles. I hope you find a song that speaks to your heart.
