About Me

FYI - For now you can listen to me imitate Ratt while looking at my page. I found some backing tracks with drums, bass and vocals (thats not me singing) and I just added the guitar. Hopefully, soon you will be able to hear audio on this website from my current band, Dirty Side Down and old band, Billy The Kidd. Billy the Kidd was a band out of Kansas City and they seemed to get lots of attention but no decent record deals were offered. I played bass on 3 cd's and the two tracks you hear on this site are from the first cd. In 1989, the first CD gained the attention of Gene Simmons whom I thought would get us signed for sure but no dice. For you metal heads out there who remember old metal bands, Billy the Kidd consisted of me on bass, ex-New York guitarist Johnny G'Lover, ex-New York Drummer Mike Constable, and finally ex-Vyper vocalist Christy Black. Prior to joining Billy the Kidd, I played bass with a Columbus Ohio based band called Petty Theft. Almost all the members of my current band Dirty Side Down, belonged to Petty Theft at one point. Nowdays, I'm a guitarist and I seem to go through phases every now and then as far as guitar influences are concerned. For example, in 2003 I went through a huge Jimmy Page phase where it seemed that I read everything there is to know about Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. During that time, I also learned a ton a Page stuff on guitar. Now days, I'm going through a huge Randy Rhoads phase. Randy was an incredible guitarist and I've been trying to find Randy clones out there to learn from but there doesn't seem to be too many people covering his music. In my search for Randy/Ozzy stuff, I'm really disappointed in the number of Ozzy tribute bands there are and how they all seem to honor Zakk rather than Randy. Don't get me wrong, Zakk is a killer guitarist but Randy is my personal fav. It's almost as if Randy has been forgotten which is a real shame. Other influences include Warren DiMartini and George Lynch. To sum up, I'm into the 80's blazing guitar stuff but not the 80's shred stuff. One day when I grow up, I'd like to end up being a hybrid of Rhoads/Lynch/DiMartini. I'll be 92 years old by the time that happens and boy o boy won't I look cool playing the Alrosa in my spandex while sitting in my glow in the dark wheelchair! Perhaps my band will be opening for a 95 year old Jani Lane!
