This page is for the collaboration tunes I've had the privilege to play on, via myspace... I haven't personally met any of the musicians on these tracks, although I hope to meet them all someday. Thanks to all of them for letting me be a part of their music, I've really enjoyed the chance to be part of these worldwide projects, hopefully music can help bring the world together!!
Faraway - This is a Kouichi Ogawa song, he was kind enough to ask Khaled Al-Kandari & myself to add guitar parts to his composition. It's a truly worldwide collaboration, Kouichi is from Osaka, Japan, & Khaled is from Kuwait. The song was very much fun to play on, it got me back to my hard rock/ metal roots, & Kouichi & Khaled are both great players & great guys to work with!!
Well of Souls - Echostorm are a great band from Texas that I met on myspace, Charlie Slocomb plays guitar, & Greg Boyd plays bass. They have some real cool music, check out their page... They had a tune that Greg wrote, they wanted to make it an instrumental, & they asked me to see what I could come up with. I sent some melodies, & they worked their magic w/ them, the result is "Well of Souls", which is a blend of my parts & Charlie's, combined w/ Greg's very atmospheric composition.
Montreal - Stelios is a keyboard player from Greece, I came across his profile & heard a piece he had on there called Montreal. He had written it while he was in that city, & I really liked the energetic mood & catchy feel of his song. I asked him if I could put guitar melodies on it, he said yes, & after struggling w/ it for a while, I think I found some melodies that work really well w/ his keyboard playing.
Care For You - Wow, Kelly Keeling!! Such a talented singer & writer, w/ a great voice & a wonderful way w/ a melody. He's played w/ so many great bands & artists - Baton Rouge, Blue Murder, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum, MSG, & many more. He currently has the Paris Keeling project, & sings w/ the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
I got this tune by accident, I had fallen in love w/ another one of his songs, & asked him if I could play around w/ guitar parts for it. He said "Sure!", & e-mailed me a file w/ the name of the song I had asked for. Apparently it had been misnamed in his hard-drive, because it turned out to be "Care For You", & while it wasn't the song I was expecting, it was a great song also, so I ran with it... Any production shortcomings on this are ENTIRELY my fault, but his demo had such great emotion & feel to it, I'm really honored to have my guitar on a piece of music by Kelly!!
