choir Pomlad from the Novo mesto/Slovenia/EU, was established at the initiative of the Commonwealth of cultural organizations and the first conductor Jožica Prus in 1992 and in the last season (2007/08) celebrated 15-year operation. That the proposal was at the site, has demonstrated an extraordinary response of young people, which enabled the operation of the choir in the same season. At first, the choir represented mainly in the domestic environment, the separate concerts, traditional Christmas concerts in the Franciscan church in Novo Mesto, as well as a host of other choirs. Eventually, on the basis of the results of regional and inter-territorial presentations established his reputation in Novo Mesto and its wider surroundings, starting the present beyond the borders of the Dolenjska region in Slovenia. After 25-years has been Pomlad first congregation in this part of Slovenia, which was attended by the largest Slovenian choral competitions Naša pesem in Maribor.
Successful work is confirmed by numerous successes in competitions at home and abroad:
- -two gold medals and Grand Prix winner in the international competition in Olomouc 2009
-gold and silver recognition in June 2007 in the international competition in Bratislava
- -two silver and three bronze prizes at the state competition Naša pesem in Maribor
- -win in the category of works by local artists at the 5th international competition in Prijedor in Bosnia&Herzegovina
- -silver plaque in 2000 to I. Olympian Choirs
- -gold plaque in 1999 in the international competition Il Canto sul Garda in Italy.
Abroad, the choir first appeared in 1996 in Rome and the Vatican, where they sing to Pope, in the same year were hosted also in Catalonia. In the context of cooperation with the Slovenian community in 2004 to play in Banja Luka and Tuzla. August 2005 were conducted its largest concert tour in Argentina and Chile, which have occurred in Buenos Aires, Mendoza, San Juan and Santiago.As one of the cultural programs in the public interest Municipality of Novo mesto the Pomlad, in addition to creating high-quality choral, seeks to promote choral singing and encourage the general public to cultural society. Thus, the institution of two projects:
Pesem povezuje: (since 2002), the concert cycle, which covers the interconnection and cooperation choirs from Slovenia and abroad. The aim of the project, in addition to cooperation with the choirs also Dolenjska promotion of culture in other places, and promoting choral singing in general.
PoPMLAD: a project which aims at promoting choral singing and integration of music genres (pop, rock,..), with a focus on the proliferation of interest in choral creation among young people.
..Since 2001, the conductor is Fernando P. Mejias, who is employed in the Slovenian Philharmonic in Ljubljana.
..15 years of operation, Pomlad, inter alia, to celebrate the issuance of other CD's Forte!. As a further attraction to: cooperation was also involved with known bands from Slovenia Dan D and Siddharta for the recording of their albums.
The latest project in 2009 was performance in TV show on 1st program of Slovenian national TV, now the choir is preparing for international competition choirs in the Czech Republic in Olomouc.
