James Monroe Iglehart

The name is James Monroe Iglehart. And please pay close attention to the spelling of the last name because that is what most people seem to get wrong. Not their fault it's just a very unusual name for anyone to have let alone a black man such as myself. When I asked my wife to marry me I also asked her if she really wanted to go through the rest of her life dealing with people jacking up her last name and she told me she loved me enough to deal with it.So what can I say about myself? I'm a very blessed man and really just a big kid. I made a promise to myself when I was 12 that I would grow older but never really grow up. So I chose the one profession where you don't have to grow up at all...Entertainment! I love it. I am currently playing the character Mitch Mahoney on Broadway in the musical 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I"ve been with the show itself for a little over a year now and I've been on Broadway for about 3 and half weeks. It actually has been a dream come true, I've wanted to be on Broadway since I was a kid.I come from a performing family, my dad is a retired film actor, my mom is a high school music teacher and my brother is a 24 hour fitness trainer by day and by night a hellava Break dancer. I'm married as I said to a wonderful woman named Dawn who is a molecular-biologist (one of us had to have a real job). I have two cats Zoe and Hissy and my 12yr old nephew Sergio lives with us.When I'm not performing you can usually catch me doing my favorite thing being completely silly. Laughing is my favorite thing. Along with watching pro wrestling, reading comic books and watching cartoons. Yep why grow up when you can stay a kid and still have all the benefits of an adult.
