Lamont started dj-ing in 1992. He had one technics SL-1200 turntable, 2 tapedecks and a cheap mixer. Around this period he made mixtapes to practice his skills in mixing and scratching. In 1997 he entered his first competition, the I.T.F. European championships in Hamburg Germany. That night he took the 4th place right after DJ Static (DK) DJ Pogo (UK) and DJ Shine (DK). This motivated him to enter more battles. (see battle stats)

Projects
DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ Big band
Lamont is a member of Grazzhoppa's DJ Big band and is touring throughout Europe with the band promoting the turntable as a muiscal instrument. The DJ Big band (founded by DJ Grazzhoppa) consisted of eight members in the beginning: Menno, XXL, Yzerbeat, Grazzhoppa, Lamont, Smimooz, Monique Harcum (vocals) and Fabrizio Cassol (saxophone). Grazzhoppa's DJ Big band has expanded in october 2004. Seven extra dj's joined the existing line-up: Optimus and Vindictiv, Court a Sock, Boula One, J to the C, Cee Brown and Iron.
On top of that the DJ Big band is supported by Fisheye, this is a VJ crew who supports the DJ Big band with visuals during the performances.

Etoile Polaire
Grazzhoppa and Lamont went to Greenland twice in 2004 to work with the local rap group "Nuuk Posse". This was a part of the "Etoile polaire" project which was a musical exchange program between Belgium and the Nordic regions. The realisation of the Etoile polaire project was possible thanks to the Arts center Katuaq in Nuuk Greenland and the Arts center VOORUIT in Gent Belgium.
Rodec Scratchbox
In 2004 DJ mixer manufacturer Rodec asked Lamont if he wanted to join their R&D team and help them develop their very first scratch mixer.
Together they succeeded in creating the ultimate scratch mixer in 2006 after a lot of research, looking for the right components and endless testing. Rodec and Lamont share the same philosophy: NO UNNECESSARY BELLS AND WHISTLES!!! The Scratchbox is all about excellent sound quality, sturdy construction, great customer service, innovative new features and quality components.

Going out / Bangers and Mash
Jerboa and Lamont had a television show in early 2006 on the local Flemish music channel Jim TV called Bangers and Mash. The concept was to create "Live" mash-ups of all different styles of music ranging from folk music, to rock, from disco to hip hop, from house to new wave ...etc. The latest DJ technologies were used: CD decks, turntables, Serato Scratch Live and Ableton Live.
Senses overloaded
Lamont and DJ 2tall (Eclectic Breaks, Pro X fade ...) are the creators of the project called "Senses overloaded, Live beat creation".
Equipment
Lap-tops, drum machines, turntables, synths, percussion instruments, microphones ,effects units and midi controllers are used to build up tracks from scratch. The lap-tops and hardware looping devices are used for creating layers of sounds which are molded and shaped into pleasent music.
Visuals
VJ (Teknar Visuals prod.) uses several cameras to film us on the spot. 2tall and Lamont are filmed from every imaginable angle and the VJ projects the images onto a screen realtime. He also triggers images and mixes them with our live action footage. The reason why we have all these cameras pointed at us is to show the public what we're actually doing on stage and to make it absolutely clear that we're performing LIVE!
Music
It's quite diverse ranging from downtempo to electronica, glitch to hip hop , D'n'B and experimental etc... Our goal is to keep things interesting for everybody and not to stick to one theme all the time.
