DEGREES OF PEOPLE consists of two DJ/Producers, JOSHUA EMMANUEL and DANIEL JAY, who as individuals have dj and production credits from way back in the early 90's. But have joined together to form:
DEGREES OF PEOPLE and are more than ready to take the world of music by storm.
JOSHUA EMMANUEL:-
Having been around music collectors and in recording studios with his uncles and close family friends amongst live musicians from a young age. J.Emmanuel (real name Joshua Isaiah Emmanuel) knew which way his life was meant to go. Joshua's love for music goes back as far as his creation he states with his trademark grin. But he did say he remember's being as young as the tender age of 2-3 and dancing around his Grandmothers Front Room, with his tight shorts on. "Remember those shorts with the different coloured strip around the edge" (he says laughin' out loud & again shining his trademark grin). You have to love this guy, his personality is a must. He then goes on to say he can still remember the day when his uncles taught him how to do the Catapilla and the James Brown slide (he offers too demonstrate, but not enough room). Also growing up amongst a lot of DJ’s & Producers Joshua first took to the wheels of steel (turntables) at the age of 11. And by the age of 14 Joshua Emmanuel was playing at various All-nighter Roller Skating Disco’s up and down the UK.
At 15 Joshua then decided to take his playing career one step further and put on his own night in a Wine Bar. From there his DJ career just excelled and he has never looked back. Joshua Emmanuel built his first full track with his original production teacher and music mentor Ellis Da Menace. Way, way back in the early 1990’s.
By the age of 16 J.Emmanuel went college to study music and music production, J.Emmanuel has a NVQ in both Sound Recording & Sampling and Music Technology. Plus a BTECH National Diploma in Popular Music and has been teaching music since 2000 at University, College and Youth Club level to budding musicians, who have ranged from the age of 5 years old right up to the age of 68.
In the early parts of the turn of the Century (2000), Joshua and Teacha (New Beyond Allstars.com) met one another and they both stayed up on many occasions, night after night, producing music, creating new sounds and discussing the theory behind music. The vibe they both carried was an instant hit off the blocks as they bounced off one another’s vibe, constantly helping the duo to produce some serious swingin’
U.S. Garage & House grooves, which are surely on there way for each groove to stand its test of time! As hits after hits.
Teacha realised the potential of this budding musician too the like mindedness of himself and guided Joshua into becoming a music tutor.
Teacha also introduced Joshua to Amlak Tafari of (Yellow Wall Productions & 3 times Grammy Nominies 'STEEL PULSE'), where Joshua further freelanced as a music tutor on behalf of Yellow Wall Productions.
Now Joshua Emmanuel is in the thick of the duo DEGREES OF PEOPLE (Joshua Emmanuel & Daniel Jay). These two constantly strive on pushing the sound of House Music forward.
For J.Emmanuel to not be around musicians, in the studio or recording parts for his next track is unheard of. Music Is His Life, Passion and Soul.
When It comes to listening Joshua has no musical preference, as his ears are open to all formats of music and sounds.
But when it comes to his own productions, Joshua Has A Saying:
"IF YOU HAVE A GROOVE YOU WILL MAKE ME MOVE"
And if the production does not make him swing his Head & Hips from left to right (his well known trend, which starts him of into a FOOTWORK FRENSY), then rest a-sure that the groove will not be put into any further motion. DANIEL JAY:-
DJ/PRODUCER from Birmingham, With a great passion for music and is always willing to learn. never scared to try some thing new and has grown strongly over the last decade as a DJ and Producer. Now he has joined forces with Joshua Emmanuel to form DEGREES OF PEOPLE he brings his youthful and soulful ear to complete the band. Daniel has always maintained both a humble and desent posture about his ways (as elevated within his music).
Striving very hard to keep up with his DJing and producer skills is nothing more than a mere daily process. Daniel is by far the more quiet one of the duo. Very quiet, (sssshhh!) almost as if he is in the backgroung, but when he feels a vibe for a song his presence is without a doubt known. Let it be when Daniel is moving up towards the piano, picking up his Bass Guitar or stepping up to the Decks. At this point you are sure to feel the presence of his humble natured soul.
Having grown up amongst his dad and other family members playing the sweet sounds of Reggae Music, Soul and Jazz. Daniel instantly took to music with a keen ear for sounds.
Daniel Jay is now fully prepared to stamp his authority as part of
DEGREES OF PEOPLE to embark his trademark: DEEP - SOULFUL , ELECTRO HOUSE sound and contribute to the duo taking the Globe by storm
The world is now his oyster as he looks on and states:
