The Mudmen

The Mudmen were formed as a psycho-rockabilly band in 1998 in a little town near Antwerp, Belgium, by guitarman Filip & drumplayer Franzie. Later also e-bassplayer Sam and double bass player Fonzie joined the band. As the only psychobilly-orientated band in Belgium at the time, they played all around the country. After a few years they also crossed the border once in a while, doing gigs in The Netherlands and Germany. During the years they shared the stage with top-bands such as The Meteors, Batmobile, Frantic Flintstones, Demented Are Go, Mad Sin, Nekromantix, Caravans, etc ... After recording a few demos, they finally recorded their debut CD, titled "No Fuck No Ride", in August 2003, which was released by Tombstone Records in January 2004. For years The Mudmen played with two bassplayers (stand-up double bass AND e-bass, also live on stage), what made them quite unique in the scene. But when in May 2004, Fonzie, the stand-up bass player, bitten by that oh so inevitable virus called "Musical Differences", left the band, they just kept on playing with only Sam on bass (switching on electric & double). Founding member & drummer Franzie left the band in summer 2004, for personal reasons. He got replaced by David on drums, who played with the Belgian oi!-sensation Unite Against Society. Despite the few line-up changes, they are still rockin' & stompin' alive today. Free insanity for everybody, have fun while it lasts! o, and to hell with politics or anything else really
