Halley Elwell is a jazz vocalist on a mission to meet, network and perform with Bay Area jazz musicians. She earned a degree in Music Performance (with a concentration in Jazz and African American music studies) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2007. In October 2007 she packed a suitcase, her realbook, and and not much else to make the pilgrimage to San Francisco.
Halley has had the privilege of working closely with many great jazz artists including Kitty Margolis, Sheila Jordan, Dr. Catherine Jensen-Hole, Dr. Billy Taylor, Geri Allen, Anita Wardell, Luciana Souza, Dr. Horace Boyer, David Berkman, and Adam Kolker.
Since arriving in San Francisco Halley has recorded a vocal/piano duo with the incomparable Larry Dunlap (Mark Murphy, Cleo Lane, Bobbe Norris, Sony Holland) and now fine tunes her chops at various jazz jams in San Francisco. Please stay tuned for updates!
