Hello! My name is Sheila and I'm a 27 year old (married)
girl from Michigan. I have two kids who are 7 and 3, and I homeschool them. The most important thing to me (other than my family, of course) is being vegan.
Ignorance is NOT bliss for me. I was shocked to find out what really goes on in the meat, dairy, and egg industries
and refuse to be any part of them.
I am all the healthier for it, too. Leading health experts now agree that being [vegan] is
the single most important thing you can do for your health.

I also care about the environment. You can not call yourself an environmentalist if you eat meat. You can save more
water by not eating a pound of beef than you would save by not showering for 6 months! (it takes 2500 gallons of
water to raise one pound of beef)

Even if health and environmental destruction weren't concerns, the way the animals are treated would be enough for me to be vegan. Perhaps small, family farms may treat their animals well, but the farms where the majority of the animal products come from are corrupt. Trying to get the most "product" for the cheapest price causes actions like those seen in this video:
