Choose something that's meaningful to you or that looks good on your curriculum vitae. This is a great opportunity to build your resumes and gain speaking experience in a supportive environment.
Panel Topics: This conference seeks to promote meaning making across borders and help us as graduate students discover the ways in which we are connected. Current panel topics include Hawaiian Studies, Sex and Gender Studies, The Expressive Arts: Music, Theatre and Prose/Poetry, Film and Media, American Studies, Literature and Theory, Class in America, and Interdisciplinary StudiesSubmission: Papers should be from 10-20 pages in length (prose and Poetry excepted, which may be shorter). Please submit an abstract in the body of the email by January 15th of this year. Email papers to: [email protected] , and please indicate Conference in the subject window. Please include your name, department and program and the panel you are submitting for as well as a contact email with your submissions.
The Goal: The spirit of this event is one of communality, and interconnectedness. This is a great first conference opportunity for graduate students who have not yet gained experience sharing their ideas in this type of setting. All levels of experience are welcome and desired! It is hoped that this conference will be utilized as a unique opportunity to build CVs, gain experience and situate our learning and ourselves within the larger picture of the world outside of academia.
