We are a family owned restaurant specializing in authentic homestyle cooking from El Salvador & Central America.Traditional Salvadoran cuisine combines the foods of Spain and the indigenous population, especially the Maya, Lenca, and Pipil people. Many of the dishes are made with maize (corn).Our desayunos tipicos (national breakfast dishes)include mashed beans, sour cream, huevos revueltos, Salvadoran tortillas, cheese, fried plantains, rice and coffee. You can choose french bread or handmade tortillas with your meal.Soups are popular among Salvadoran cuisine. Sopa de pata is a soup made from patas de res (cow's feet), plantain, corn and tripe. We also have Sopa de Res con chipilin (Beef soup) and Sopa de Pollo with Chipilin (Chicken Soup). Chipilin is leafy vegetable native to Central America and commonly used in the cuisine of that area.We are famous for our "PUPUSAS", Gorditas as some of our customers refer to them. Pupusas are hand-made corn tortillas stuffed inside with your choice of chicharron (pork), cheese, beans or loroco. They are served with a spicy coleslaw called 'curtido' (pickled) and a salsa.We wrap our tamales in plantain leafs. We also serve "platanos fritos" with beans & cream. As well as "Yuca Frita con Chicharron", Bistec & Pollo Encebollado (Onion Steak/Chicken).Our menu includes many options beginning with appetizers, dinner entrees, and desserts. Our drink options include sodas in glass bottles, something not too common in the US anymore, as well as Salvadoran style Horchata made with Morrow seed, Tamarindo, and "Ensalada de Fruta" (Fruit Salad Drink".Come check us out!
