New Maybe were born in 2003. Born just as a cover-band, they started looking for their own sound in order to express their music the best way. It hasn't been easy to stick to a well-defined identity working on such different projects: on the one hand the cover-versions, and on the other their own songs. Since the very beginning, the main goal of New Maybe has been to grow up musically and to perform. It has been quite hard to survive in both fields.
First of all the four members struggled in matching their musical preferences: Metal or Hard Rock? Rock or Pop? Grunge or Stoner? Psychedelia or Dark influences? The answer came slowly, after working hard on the first song, "I Miss You"... It might seem funny, but the answer to all our problems was the birth of a definitely-pop-rock song, without pretending to belong to any other genre. Several influences collided and brought out the right committment: in order to get to the hearts of the people, music must be powerful (and it is no matter of volume...), simple and effective, true and genuine.
It might sound easy, but it is important to communicate thanks to the music, symbol of the many laughs and of the hard work lived by those who perform... and, if we had nothing to say, we wouldn't be here!!!
I New Maybe nascono nel 2003. Nati inizialmente come coverband, si sono cimentati nella ricerca di un sound personale che potesse esprimere al meglio la loro musica. È stato difficile mantenere una precisa identità lavorando su due fronti così diversi: quello delle cover e quello la musica propria. Fin da subito, l’obiettivo primario dei New Maybe è stato quindi quello di crescere a livello musicale e farsi sentire. Si è dimostrata davvero una cosa impegnativa sopravvivere nei due fronti.
Innanzitutto è stato molto laborioso e complicato trovare un punto d’incontro tra i quattro componenti della band: Metal o Hard rock? Rock o Pop? Grunge o Stoner? Psichedelia o influenze Dark? La risposta è arrivata lentamente, dopo aver lavorato molto sulla prima canzone, “I miss you”… Sembrerà buffo, ma la risposta a tutti i nostri problemi è stata la nascita di una canzone assolutamente pop-rock, senza pretese di appartenenza a chissà quale altro genere. Le varie influenze cozzando tra di loro hanno trovato il giusto compromesso: la musica per arrivare al sangue delle persone deve essere potente (e non si parla di volumi…), semplice ed efficace, vera e genuina.
Sembrerà forse una banalità, ma l’importante è comunicare attraverso la musica, simbolo delle risate e delle fatiche affrontate da chi la esegue… e, se non avessimo niente da dire, non saremmo qui!!!
