NEWS: 30 Jun 08 - My song "Tears Of Love" was mentioned briefly on page 13 of Saturday's (28 Jun) Illawarra Mercury. The article was about family friend Lisa Foggo who died in 2004 from a car accident on Picton Road. "Tears Of Love" was writtten as a result of her passing.VALE JOHNATHAN LEWIS It's often joked that your myspace friends aren't real friends. But everyone knows that isn't always the case. Many people we know away from the computer are also myspace friends. One such person was Johnathan Lewis. I came to know John by being good friends with his sister Fiona. Sadly last night (6 Feb) John took his own life. I know he will be missed by many but particularly by his girlfriend Gemma, mother Brenda, brother Daniel, nephew Joshua & Fiona. Thus assuring a lifetime following Canterbury. Just as I was about to begin school, my family moved to the seaside town of Kiama, around 120 kms south of Sydney. Around the time of my 21st birthday, I moved north to Wollongong (approx 85km south of Sydney) & have been living in & around the 'gong ever since.My life changed drastically after hearing "My Sharona" by The Knack, sending me in to deep musical dependency ever since. In High School, Australian band Moving Pictures released it's debut album "Days of Innocence" containing the number 1 song "What About Me?" It's themes of teenage love struck a chord leading me to start writing my own songs. And after seeing Bruce Springsteen & the E St Band on the "Born In The USA" tour I knew there was no turning back.As if it's not enough to waste your life away with delusions of musical grandeur, I have also been a long time community radio presenter on Vox FM in Wollongong. In addition to co-presenting the local music/comedy show "Doing It Locally" with Craig Jones, I also was foolish enough to present Monday breakfast for 3 years.Along the way, I've recorded numerous demos that have made their way to family & friends & sometimes to the Vox airwaves. In 2000 I released my debut CD, "Keep On Dreaming" contain 5 of my songs. My most recent recordings were in Nashville & will be released this year as "Religion, Politics & Fear."
